My name is Yénika Castillo Muñoz and I am a Mexican designer currently living in Sweden. My work explores the interesections of Design, decolonial theories and activism, finding inspiration on Mexican and Latin American knowledge, culture and ways of being. I am mostly interested in interaction design from a place of collective creation and relationality, encouraging work with horizontal teams and collaborations in a frame of human rights and sustainability.
My research project Collective Weaving of Territories: Exploring diasporic identities with Latin American migrants explores ways to materialise migrant experiences, to pose critical questions about our identities and the global situation that shapes them.
I’m looking for opportunities to expand this work: As a researcher, as a collaborator in institutions or as a partner in joint initiatives.
